Summary

Dermanyssus gallinae was recovered at all farms (infection extensity = 100%). Biting louse fauna included 2 species attributed to family Menoponidae (Menopon gallinae, Menacanthus stramineus) and 1 species attributed to family Philopteridae (Goniocotes gallinae). The high prevalence of those ectoparasites was due to low sanitary conditions in hen houses, absence of effective and regular treatments by insecto-acaricides of poultry and poultry husbandry buildings.
