ACTION OF TRICHLABENDAZOLE IN THE SYSTEM “PARASITE – HOST”

Summary. 

Trichlabendazole is highly effective against imaginal and inmature Fasciola hepatica. It’s efficacy at dose levels of 7,5; 10 and 12,5 mg/kg of body weight appears to be 94,3; 100 and 100% against adult specimen and 92,4; 99,2 and 100% against inmature specimens respectively. The agent at dose levels of 10 (the therapeutic one) and 30 (the 3-fold one) is safe for sheep. Thichlabendazole causes nectrotic reactions in genital organs and disturbances in spermatogenesis of Fasciola.
