DETECTION OF TRICHINELLA IN NORTHERN WHITE-BREASTED HEDGEHOG (ERINACEUS ROUMANICUS) IN THE KURSK REGION

Summary

Trichinella larvae in muscles of northern white-breasted hedgehog were detected for the first time in the Kursk region. Species identification was performed by multiplex PCR and revealed Trichinella nativa. Data about muscular distribution of Trichinella larvae in northern white-breasted hedgehog are provided. The highest intensity was recorded in biceps muscle of thigh and triceps muscle of arm.
