Dakhno I.S. is Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, professor, member of Scientific Council of National University of Bioresources and Natural Resources Use of Ukraine, member of the Presidium of the International Association of Parasitocenologists, member of Editorial Board of the International Journal of Fundamental and Applied Issues of Parasitology, member of Coordination council on Veterinary Parasitology of CIS countries.
Date and place of birth: October 21, 1950 (village Bilyki of Mirgorod district, Poltava region).
Background: In 1968 graduated from Khomutetzk Zoo-Veterinary College of Mirgorod district, and in 1978 - Kharkov Zoo-Veterinary Institute, summa cum laude. 1978 – 1988 worked in production; completed the Postgraduate Program at All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Fundamental and Applied Parasitology of Animals and Plants named after K.I. Skryabin (Moscow)

1988-1990 – senior lecturer at the Department of Parasitology and Epizootiology; 1990-1996 - associate professor of the Department of Parasitology; 1997-1999 - associate professor at the Department of Epizootiology; 1999-2005 - Head of the Department of Parasitology, Pathological anatomy and Veterinary examination of Poltava State Agrarian Academy. Since 2005 - Head of the Department of Parasitology and Toxicology of Sumy National Agrarian University.

«Epizootiology of mixed nematodosis in pigs of the forest steppe zone of Ukraine and elaboration of measures for struggle against them in industrial farms». 03.00.20. – helminthology. Year of the thesis defence – 1987 (Moscow).
