Head of the Laboratory for protozooses and sanitary parasitology of All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Fundamental and Applied Parasitology of Animals and Plants named after K.I. Skryabin, doctor of veterinary sciences, professor.
Date and place of birth: February 23, 1949 (village Borovka of Melekessky district, Ulyanovsk region).
Background – veterinarian. In 1972 graduated from Ulyanovsk Agricultural Institute.
Main research fields: veterinary parasitology, elaboration of remedies for treatment and prevention of parasitic diseases in animals; economic assessment of effectiveness of anti-parasitic measures.
Employment details: postgraduate student (1974), junior research associate (1977), senior (1980), leading research associate (1988), laboratory head (2005). In 1991 defended his doctoral thesis, in 2000 he was awarded the rank and title of Professor.
Extracurricular and scientific activities: Member of Scientific, Dissertation and Coordinating councils of All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Fundamental and Applied Parasitology of Animals and Plants named after K.I. Skryabin;
Member of Section «Invasive diseases in animals»; deputy chairman of the Section
«The organization, economics and history of veterinarian medicine» of division of Veterinary Medicine, RAAS; Editorial Staff member of the Russian Journal of Parasitology and of the journal «Tsenovik. Agricultural review». Has 7 patents and authorship certificates, and 5 innovation proposals implemented into production.
Basis publications: more than 550 scientific works.
Safiulin R.T. is a co-author of the textbook «Veterinary» (2005) and the monograph
«Parasitic diseases in fur animals» (2007). The main methodical guidelines:
«Methodical recommendations on estimating the economic efficacy of anti-parasitic measures and results of research works, inventions and innovation proposals» (2006), «Methodical guidelines on entrepreneurship in veterinary medicine » (2006).
Safiulin R.T. has a scientific school: more than 15 PhD and doctoral theses were defended under his management.
Awards: medal of «850th anniversary of Moscow», commemorative medal of «100th anniversary of the birth of academician K.I. Skryabin», various medals of All-Union Exhibition of Achievements of National Economy and All-Russian Exhibition Centre.
