On 23–24 October 2025, the XVIII All-Russian Scientific and Practical Conference in Memory of Professor V.A. Romashov, “Current Issues of General and Applied Parasitology,” was held in the Voronezhsky Nature Reserve. The event was attended by scientists, experts from research institutes, teachers, and young researchers from various Russian regions. .
The Branch Head, Doctor of Veterinary Sciences, Professor of the Russian Academy of Sciences Mikhail V. Arisov gave a report.
The Conference presented and discussed academic reports on key areas of modern parasitology, including:
- fauna, ecology, and biology of parasites,
- natural focal parasitosis,
- epizootology and epidemiology of parasitosis,
- current issues in pathogenesis, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of parasitosis.
Participants exchanged research results, discussed current industry challenges and modern methods to control parasitic diseases, and outlined prospects for further scientific collaboration.
The Conference emphasized the importance of preserving the scientific legacy of Professor V.A. Romashov and carrying on his traditions in the development of Russian parasitology.

At the 27th Russian Agricultural Exhibition “Golden Autumn 2025,” based on the results of the competition “For the development, production and implementation of efficacious medicines and preparations for veterinary use, high efficiency of anti-epizootic measures in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, elimination, treatment of infectious and non-infectious animal diseases, and promotion of the veterinary profession in the region,” in the category “For contribution to the preservation of veterinary traditions and history, and the perpetuation of the memory of veterinary specialists who participated in the Great Patriotic War, the labour front, and special military operations (SMO),” All-Russian Scientific Research Institute for Fundamental and Applied Parasitology of Animals and Plant – a branch of the Federal State Budget Scientific Institution “Federal Scientific Centre VIEV” of the Russian Academy of Sciences was awarded a silver medal and a diploma for its printed documentalistic fiction “Employees of the K. I. Skryabin All-Union Institute of Helminthology during the Great Patriotic War (1941–1945)” (compiled by: M.V. Arisov, O.A. Panova, A.V. Zankovich, A.A. Panova).

On October 10, 2025, the grand opening of the VIII International Scientific Congress "Globalistics" took place in the building of the Moscow State University Fundamental Library. The Congress was dedicated to significant dates: the 270th anniversary of the Lomonosov Moscow State University, the 220th anniversary of the Moscow Society of Naturalists (MOIP), the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, and the UN and UNESCO foundation.
The event was attended by the Branch Head, Professor of the Russian Academy of Sciences Mikhail V. Arisov and the Head of the Research Area, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences Alexander V. Uspensky.
During the Meeting, Rector of the Moscow State University, President of the MOIP, Academician Viktor A. Sadovnichiy gave a report that was dedicated to the history of the founding and development of the Moscow Society of Naturalists.
An awards ceremony was also held for MOIP honorary members who have made significant contributions to the development of science and education.

On Saturday, September 20, 2025, field classes were given to fourth-year students from the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia (RUDN University).
The students learned about the history of the All-Russian Scientific Research Institute for Fundamental and Applied Parasitology of Animals and Plant, the creation of the Parasite Collection, and its exhibits.
The students refreshed memory about general parasitology and helminthology issues. They also viewed exhibits specimens initiated from helminth infections of economic significance that affect various animal species—wild and domestic.

On April 24, 2025, a Meeting of the Scientific Commission for Parasitic Diseases in Plants was held in-person at the VNIIP – FSC VIEV and chaired by Professor, Doctor of Biological Sciences A.A. Shesteperov. The work involved representatives of the VNIIP – FSC VIEV, the Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution "A.G. Lorkh Federal Research Center of Potatoes", and the Federal State Budget Scientific Institution “V.V. Dokuchaev Soil Institute”. During the Meeting, six scientific reports were heard, and methodological guidelines were considered. All those present took an active part in discussing the reports, asked questions and gave recommendations to the authors. The organizers presented an exhibition of scientific publications on parasitic diseases of plants.

On October 11, 2024, the All-Russia Skryabin Society of Helminthologists participated in an exhibition of achievements of scientific societies at Lomonosov Moscow State University. The Society’s exhibition stand displayed periodicals from the All-Russian Scientific Research Institute for Fundamental and Applied Parasitology of Animals and Plants – a branch of the Federal State Budget Scientific Institution “Federal Scientific Centre VIEV”, as well as a banner with information about the history of the Society of Helminthologists and the international scientific conference “Theory and Practice of Parasitic Disease control”. The Faculty of Global Studies of Moscow State University has produced a booklet entitled “Scientific Societies of Russia”, which describes the main activities of the Society of Helminthologists.
We would like to express our gratitude to the organizers of the Assembly of Scientific Societies for the invitation and look forward to further cooperation.

From 22 to 24 May 2024, the VNIIP – FSC VIEV hosted the International Scientific Conference “Theory and practice of parasitic disease control” dedicated to the memory of V.S. Ershov, A.S. Bessonov and T.S. Skarbilovich
Ninety people took part in the Conference. The plenary session heard 12 reports. Based on the Conference results, the speakers were awarded certificates.
The Conference received 83 research articles from veterinary, medical, and biological researchers from specialized scientific and medical institutions and universities of the Russian Federation (24 Regions), Belarus, Armenia, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan.
A Collection of research articles was published (its electronic version can be found here) by the beginning of the Conference, with indexing in the RSCI and CyberLeninka; and ISBN and DOI assignment.

The Scientific Conference “Tatyana Semenovna Skarbilovich, the Founder of Soviet and Russian Nematology (to the 120th Birth Anniversary)” was held at the VNIIP - FSC VIEV on January 30, 2024.
We thank all conference participants! We wish everyone further creative success!
The Conference arranged by the All-Russian Society of Helminthologists of the RAS (chaired by Professor A.A. Shesteperov) and the Commission on Phytoparasitic Diseases was actively backed by the staff of the Laboratory of Phytoparasitology and our institute administration. The Conference brought together 50 people, representatives of 11 scientific, educational, and industrial institutions from the Moscow Region. As part of the Plenary Meeting, 21 reports were heard and the film “T.S. Skarbilovich” about the Scientist’s biography made by Candidate of Biological Sciences Zh.V. Udalova was presented. The Organizers also presented a display of Tatyana Skarbilovich’s photographs, work diaries and documents. Based on the conference results, the Commission on Phytoparasitic Diseases recommended that the authors of the reports published materials on the presented topics in our institute publications. Speakers and conference participants were awarded certificates.
