RESULTS OF THE INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE "THEORY AND PRACTICE OF PARASITIC DISEASE CONTROL" OF MAY 20-22, 2026

From May 20 to 22, 2026, the VNIIP – FSC VIEV hosted the International Scientific Conference, "Theory and practice of parasitic disease control," dedicated to the 100th birth anniversary of Professor Alexander M. Sazanov. Ninety-five participants attended the Conference.

M.V. Arisov, Doctor of Veterinary Sciences, Professor of the RAS, delivered welcoming remarks, mentioned the key dates in the history of the All-Russia Skryabin Society of Helminthologists (VOG) and highlighted the Society's main activities.

Professor M.I. Gulyukin, Head of the Research Group of the FSC VIEV, Academician of the RAS, Doctor of Veterinary Sciences also greeted the Conference participants.

F.I. Vasilevich, Doctor of Veterinary Sciences, Professor, Academician of the RAS welcomed the audience and wished the Conference participants fruitful work.

The meeting discussed organizational issues. Particularly, an Application by Alexander V. Uspensky, the VOG President, requesting a dismissal from the position was considered. The VOG President elections were held, and M.V. Arisov, Doctor of Veterinary Sciences, Professor of the RAS, and Head of the Branch was elected as a result. A decision was also adopted to open eight regional branches, namely, Central, Northwestern, Southern, North Caucasian, Volga Region, Ural, Siberian, and Far Eastern. Persons suggested for regional branch representatives were approved for senior positions. A resolution amending the VOG Charter was made according to the RF legislation, which, once approved by the Russian Ministry of Justice, will be posted on the Institute's website.

The Conference featured 13 plenary papers and 14 brief presentations; and reviewed and approved methodological recommendations. Professor R.T. Safiullin, Doctor of Veterinary Sciences, delivered a detailed report on Professor Alexander M. Sazanov.

The first day of the Conference presented the Institute's Parasite Collection to the participants. Following the Conference, the participants who had delivered reports were awarded Certificates.

A collection of scientific articles (an electronic version is available here) with indexation in the RSCI and CyberLeninka, and ISBN and DOI assignment was published to mark the start of the event. The Conference received 77 research articles from researchers in veterinary, phytosanitary, medical, and biological fields, from specialized scientific and medical institutions and universities in the Russian Federation (22 regions), Belarus, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan..
